Mary Elizabeth “Sandi” Hanson Dorsey, 57, of Ocilla, formerly of Ashburn, passed away Thursday, April 6, 2017, in Ocilla. Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, April 9, 2017, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Terrell Roberts officiating. Mrs. Dorsey will be laid to rest at Hickory Springs Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Tifton. The family will receive friends Saturday, April 8, 2017, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Wesley Harrell, Lee Pippin, Denim Gray, J. R. Minshew, Joey McCrimmon and Stephen Rogers will serve as pallbearers.
Born July 28, 1959 in Memphis, Tennessee, Mrs. Dorsey was the daughter of the late Walter Anthony Hanson, Sr. and Bernice Sample Hanson Chastain. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Walter Anthony Hanson, Jr.
Mrs. Dorsey is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, David and Wendy Dorsey of Ashburn and Jay and Rhnea Dorsey of Enigma; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Beth and Wesley Harrell and Nicole Dorsey and her fiancé, Denim Gray, all of Ocilla and Stacy and Lee Pippin of Enigma; three brothers, Mason Hanson, James Hanson and Donald Hanson, all of Kansas; two sisters, Terry Vaughn and Vickie Smotherman, both of Kansas; nine grandchildren; and her former spouse and the father of her children, Julian Dorsey of Irwinville.
