Mary (Pezzuolo) Iacabone, of Medford, formerly of Boston’s North End, passed away on Thursday, April 6th at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital. She was 94.
Born in Boston, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Josephine Pezzuolo. Following high school, she and her husband married and they began their family with love and devotion.
Mary was first and foremost a family woman. She loved her children and grandchildren and would do anything for them. In her spare time, she enjoyed traveling. Some of her most memorable trips were to Italy, Spain and the Caribbean. Mary was an avid reader. Her favorite genres were mystery and fiction literature, though she was happy to read anything—anything besides romance novels.
Mary was the beloved wife of the late Edward Iacabone, who passed away in 1957. The two shared many loving years of marriage. She was the devoted mother of Paula Witten and her late husband Bernie of Jamaica Plain, Roger Iacabone and his wife Linda of Medford. The loving grandmother of Edward Witten and his wife Erin of Dedham, Roger Iacabone and his wife Nicole of Burlington, she is also survived by her dear cousin of Lola Faliero and her husband Michael of Somerville.
Her funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main Street, Medford, on Monday, April 10th at 8:30AM followed by a Funeral Mass celebrated in St. Raphael Church, 512 High Street, Medford, at 9:30AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Sunday from 4 through 7PM. Services will conclude with burial at St. Michael Cemetery, Boston.
