John Bouvier Dowling, 51, of Anderson died April 3, 2017 at Community Hospital after a sudden illness.
He was born December 28, 1965 in Idaho the son of William and Marcia (Chase) Dowling, Jr.
He served in the United States Navy.
He was a materials handler for Progress Rail.
He was a NASCAR fan and New Orleans Saints fan.
He is survived by his wife, Susan (Wood) Dowling of Anderson whom he married in Pendleton on July 8 ,1995; father, William Dowling, Jr.; three step-children, Jason Etchison; Joshua Etchison and Marissa Etchison; brother, William J. (Brenda) Dowling, III; sister, Marti (Shawn) Kleinpeter; five grandchildren, Ariah Etchison, Jadah Etchison, Chloe Etchison, Tyler Doelle, Claire Doelle; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Marcia (Chase) Dowling and his grandmother, Martha Chase.
Service will be 2 p.m. on Friday, April 7 at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with Ned Clark of Chesterfield Christian Church officiating. Burial will follow in East Maplewood Cemetery.
Visitation will be Friday from 12 until the service at 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
