James Stewart “Jamie” Rounsaville, age 79, passed away on April 4, 2017 at his home in Water Valley, MS. He was born in Pine Valley, MS to the late Francis Herron Rounsaville and Elenor Stewart Rounsaville. Jamie worked many years at the University of MS and has been well known in the area as an excellent self employed painter. He served twice in the U.S. Army. Jamie enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing cards, and spending time with his family. He was a member of O’Tuckolofa Baptist Church.
Services are planned for Saturday, April 8, 2017 at 2 PM in the Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks. Visitation will be Friday, April 7, 2017 from 5 until 7 PM at Seven Oaks with Bro. Dan Dickerson officiating. Burial will be in Paris Cemetery in Paris, MS.
Jamie is survived by his wife, Barbara Prestage Rounsaville of Water Valley, MS; three daughters, Jeri Cruz (Frank) of Chicago, IL, Kathy Rounsaville (Ken) of San Francisco, CA, and Laura Leigh Rounsaville of Grenada, MS; one son, Brian Mize (Denise) of Columbus, MS; one sister, Mattie Lou Pinkerton, of Water Valley, MS; and one brother, George Lee Rounsaville (Teri) of Water Valley, MS. He also raised three daughters as his own; Faye Matson, Sharon Finocchio, and Audrey Aleje, all of Atlanta, GA. He has fifteen grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
