John L. Mullen, Jr., age 86 of East Taunton, Passed away on April 4, 2017.
He was the beloved husband of Nancy (Carr) Mullen
John was born in Winthrop, MA, a son of the late John and Rose (Tyler) Mullen, Sr.
Before retirement, John was employed with the Boston Globe and Boston Herald with a total of 45 years as a printer.
He was a Korean War Veteran as a Seabee. Mr. Mullen enjoyed traveling, fishing, boating and was an avid NE Patriots fan. John was a loving and caring person who was devoted to his family. One of John’s favorite quotes was “My Doctor said.. I’m so healthy, I’m boring!
Besides his loving wife Nancy of over 61 years, he is survived by his children, Richard Mullen and wife Linda of Taunton, Tricia Topoulos and husband Andrew of Wareham and Andrea Savisky and husband Robert of East Taunton. He was the grandfather of Matthew and Amelia Topoulos, Emily Savisky, Sarah, Johanna and Luke Mullen. John was also the brother of James Mullen and wife Addie of Salem, MA.
Mr. Mullen’s funeral will be held on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at 8:45 am from the Silva Funeral Home 80 Broadway (at Saint Mary’s Square) in Taunton, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in Holy Family Church, Middleboro Ave East Taunton.
Interment will follow in Melrose Cemetery in Brockton.
Visiting hours will be held on Monday, April 10th . from 4 to 7pm in the Silva Funeral Home.
