Arthur G Souza, age 94, of Taunton, and of Raynham passed away at home on April 4, 2017 surrounded by his loving family.
He was the beloved husband of Lucy (Medeiros) Souza.
Born in Taunton, he was the son of the late Manuel and Francisca ( Ponte ) Souza.
Before retirement, Mr. Souza was employed by The Foxboro Co as an electrical engineer for over 38 years. Arthur was also a graduate of Wentworth Institute of Technology and an Army Veteran of WWII.
He was a devoted husband and enjoyed traveling with his wife and in their later years enjoyed just spending all their time together. Arthur was also a devoted father , grandfather and great-grandfather.
Besides his loving wife Lucy of over 69 years, he is survived by his children, Arthur Souza and wife Linda of OK, Paul Souza and wife Janet of CA, Beverly Franklin and husband Jan of Wrentham and Nanette Vierra of Cape Cod. He was the proud grandfather of Tina Wooten, Chris Souza, Marty Souza, Dorothy Souza ,Zac Vierra, Colleen Reis and Sean Franklin. Great- grandfather of Natalie, Cameron, Jana, Joshua and Brandon. He was also the brother of Alfred G. Souza and his wife Shirley of Taunton and Adeline Ricci of CA. He was the brother of the late Mary Dube.
Arthur will be missed by all but his great personality and sense of humor will be remembered forever.
Mr. Souza’s funeral will be held on Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at 8:45 am from the Silva Funeral home 80 Broadway (at Saint Mary’s Square) in Taunton, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in Saint Ann Church North main St, Raynham.
Burial will be held privately.
Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, April 11th from 4 to 7 pm in the Silva Funeral Home.
