Herbert J. Smaha, 92, passed away on April 1, 2017. He was born on May 23, 1924 in Lawrence, MA to George and Sadie Smaha. He was born in Lawrence MA, graduated from the University of Massachusetts at Lowell and served his country during World War II.
Mr. Smaha worked as a textile chemist and retired from Velcro America. He spent most of his adult life living in Manchester NH.
Mr. Smaha leaves his sister Pauline and her husband, Alfonso Apruzzese, his niece Judith Desroches and her husband Dan, niece Paula Long and husband Richard, niece Jane Bruno and husband Joseph, niece Cathy Calandriello and nephew James Calandriello and his wife Deb. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sisters Emily Smaha and Dorothy Calandriello, and his longtime companion Ruth Jennings.
A funeral service will be held at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence St. Methuen on Saturday, April 8, 2017 at 9:30am with burial immediately following at the United Lebanese Cemetery at 50 Corbett Road, Lawrence MA.
