Moultonboro-----Richard Ray Plumley 86, died after a short battle with lung cancer, Saturday, April 1, 2017 surrounded by his loving family.
Richard “Dick” was born November 11, 1930 in Monson, Massachusetts, son to the late Ray Hale Plumley and Clara Ella (Boomhower) Plumley. He served in the United States Marine Corps from March 1952 to March 1954. Richard worked as a Mechanic for Palmer Motor Coach and Laidlaw Transportation for over 45 years total. He also spent 7 years working with his brother Phillip restoring antique cars.
Richard enjoyed snowmobiling, riding motorcycles, boating, auto racing, restoring antique automobiles, attending and participating in Cruise Nights and spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was also a member of the Unite States Power Squadron.
Richard is survived by his son, William R. Plumley and his wife Terri of Ashaway, RI; two daughters, Rosemarie E. Trole and her husband, Rick of Palmer, MA; Linda J. Brown and her husband, William of Monson, MA; nine grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; brother, Phillip D. Plumley of Monson, MA; three sisters, Shirley A. Wilkes of Enfield, CT, Faye E. Barnes and her husband Robert of Monson, MA and Diane Putek and her husband, Glenn of Monson, MA. He also leaves many cousins, nieces, and nephews as well as dear neighbors and friends. He will be sadly missed by all.
In addition to his parents he is predeceased by his wife of 60 years, Margaret L (Baker) Plumley, his brother, Lawrence O. Plumley and his sister, Harriet E. Bessette.

A funeral service will be held Friday, April 7, 2017 at 1:00pm at the Wilkinson-Beane-Simoneau-Paquette Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, NH using the Carriage House entrance.
Burial will follow at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Road, Boscawen, NH Friday, April 7, 2017 at 2:30pm.
