Obituary

Margie Jan Giddens Mathis, 44, of Enigma passed away Monday, April 3, 2017, at her parents’ residence in Enigma. Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, April 6, 2017, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Terrell Roberts officiating. Michael Hollis and other family members will offer eulogies. Mrs. Mathis will be laid to rest at Giddens Serenity Cemetery in Enigma. The family will receive friends Wednesday, April 5, 2017, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.

Mitchell Tanner, Mike Shaw, Kyle Stone, Stanley Williams, Craig Robinette and Cole Young will serve as pallbearers.

Born May 30, 1972 in Tifton, Mrs. Mathis was the daughter of Coy “Cecil” Giddens, Jr. and Marie F. Gray Giddens of Enigma. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Coy Cecil Giddens Sr. and Eliza Giddens and J. D. Gray and Lillian Gray; and a nephew, Brandon Jacobs. She had been a registered nurse for 17 years and loved nursing. She was a member of Tift Avenue Missionary Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Mathis is survived by her husband, Jamie Mathis of Enigma; her brothers and sisters, Cecil Terry Willis Sr., Teresa L. Esco and Margarett Young and husband, Barry Young, all of Enigma, Mary Ann Robinette and Sandra G. Davis, both of Nashville and Roger Giddens and wife, Stacy Giddens of Adel; her step-children, Zach Mathis, Haley Mathis, Will Mathis and Brittnee Mathis; her nieces and nephews, Terry Willis Jr., Justin Jacobs, Lanna Stone, Summer Nava, Johnny Craig Robinette, Savannah Davis, Ricky Davis, Coy Giddens, Carrington Giddens and Barbara Lang; and her great-nieces and great-nephews, Cholee Willis, Rylee Willis, Tyler Jacobs, Kayn Stone, Leah Stone, Tucker Lang and Callie Lang.
