Brett Allen Vickers, 54, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, formerly of Dayton, Ohio, died Monday, April 3, 2017, in Fitzgerald, Georgia.
Memorial services will be held 11 AM, Saturday, April 8, 2017, at Mt. Olive Baptist Church with the Rev. Steve Hand officiating. Several of Brett’s friends will share memories as well. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends from 6-9 Friday evening at the home of Marcy & Kevin Day, 145 Wren Road in Fitzgerald as well as following the service on Saturday.
Mr. Vickers was born April 14, 1962, in Dayton, Ohio, to Russell Vickers of Sarasota, Florida, and the late Barbara Ann Gibson. Mr. Vickers was a district manager for Hot Head Burrito’s in Dayton, Ohio. He was an avid sports fan and coach, having played men’s league softball and football and coaching high school football in Turner County and Americus. He was also an avid golfer.
In addition to his father, he is survived by six sisters: Marcy & Kevin Day of Fitzgerald, Carla & Stevie Smith of Fitzgerald, Darla & Charlie Biggers of Ocilla, Shannon & Reese Starnes of Fitzgerald, Stacey & Chris Getter of Sarasota, Florida and Kelly Givens of Dayton, Ohio; and a brother, William & Julie Stevens of Fitzgerald. Many nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by a brother, Russell Scott Vickers.
