Laconia----- Esther "Timmy" M. Nolan 90, of the Taylor Community, died Friday, March 31, 2017 surrounded by her loving family at Lakes Region General Hospital.
Timmy was born December 10, 1926 in Cleveland, Ohio, daughter to the late John Doyle and Ruth K. (Furness) McQuade. Timmy taught at the University of Maryland where she met her husband, Robert. She then worked as a speech pathologist for 25 years for North Merrick School District in New York.
Timmy is a graduate of Trinity Washington University, Washington, D.C. and earned a Master’s Degree from Case Western Reserve in Ohio. Timmy enjoyed needle point, traveling, and cooking. She was also an avid reader and above all loved being a wife and mother.
Timmy is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Robert F. Nolan; two daughters, Wendy Nolan Sutton and her husband, Donald of Moultonborough and Julie Nolan Stroud and her husband, Craig of Westfield, New Jersey; four grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her sisters, Ruth McQuade McNamara and Mary Ellen McQuade Cole.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, May 8, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 300 NH Route 25, Meredith, NH 03253. At 9:00 a.m., an hour prior to the mass, the family will receive friends at the church.
