James G. Riley Jr., age 74, passed away on Saturday, April 1, 2017.
He was born in Boston, grew up in Dorchester and lived in Braintree for seven years before moving to Weymouth in 1974. James graduated from Dorchester High School in 1962 and attended Northeastern University and New England School of Law. He was an insurance Broker for Metropolitan Life Insurance Company. While living in Braintree, he was very active in St. Clare Church in Braintree.
Jim is survived by his daughter, Elizabeth Cruz and her husband, Robert of Weymouth and his sister, Elizabeth Crosby and her husband, Peter of CA and his sister-in-law, Kathleen Riley of Braintree. He is predeceased by his brother Robert K. Riley.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visiting hours in Jim’s honor on Wednesday April 5 from 4-8 PM in the C. C. Shepherd Funeral Home, 134 Pleasant St., Weymouth. Friends and relatives will gather on Thursday, April 6 at 8:30 AM in the funeral home for a celebration of life prior to the Funeral Mass which will be held at the Saint Albert the Great Church, 1140 Washington St. Weymouth at 9:30 AM. Interment will follow in the Blue Hill Cemetery in Braintree.
