Obituary

Mary E. (Powers) Hanna passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family, on April 1st. Mary was born in Quincy 87 years ago and spent most of her life in Quincy until she moved to West Falmouth with her husband. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was an avid cook and gardener and was a parishioner and volunteer at St. Elizabeth Seton Church, West Falmouth. The beloved wife of the late John E. Hanna and the devoted mother of John M. Hanna and his wife Mary Eileen of West Roxbury, Mary M. Berry and her husband Kevin of Milton and the late Christina Kennedy. Mother-In-Law of James Kennedy of Boston. Sister of Maurice Powers of Fl and the late James Powers. Mimi of 8 cherished grandchildren: Elizabeth, Jack, Michael, Thomas, Kevin, Matthew, Annie and the late James Kennedy. Also survived by many loving nieces & nephews. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Agatha Church, Milton Wednesday morning, April 5, 2017 at 11. Visiting hour at the Alfred D. Thomas Funeral Home, 326 Granite Avenue, Milton 9 to 10:30 prior to Mass. Burial private. In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy may be made in Christina Kennedy’s name to Dana Farber Cancer Institute, P.O. Box 8949168, Boston 02284-9168.
