Renee Lucille Williamson, 88, of St. Simons Island, Georgia, passed away peacefully, April 1, 2017, at her residence.
Funeral services will be held, 11AM, Monday, April 3, 2017, at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald with the Rev. B.J. Funk officiating. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.
Mrs. Williamson was born January 31, 1929, in Middletown, Ohio, to the late Robert R. & Laura Elizabeth McChesney Johnson. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Education from the University of Georgia. Her enthusiasm brought life into all her family and friends, whom she loved dearly and always made sure their needs were met.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 67 years, Jim Williamson of St. Simons Island, daughters, Renee and Jim Diskin of St. Simons Island, Lisa and Daniel Wichern of Mexico, Missouri, Risè Williamson of St. Louis, Missouri; six grandchildren, a brother-in-law Tom Blevins of Panama City, Florida. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one sister, Rae Blevins.
