Bobby Carroll Woods, 65, of Tifton passed away Saturday, April 1, 2017, at Legacy Village in Tifton, where he had resided for the past six to seven months. His funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 3, 2017, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Salone Green officiating. Bobby Kirkland will offer a eulogy. Mr. Woods will be laid to rest at Tift Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Johnny Woods officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday, April 2, 2017, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Will Carroll, Austin Hill, Jason Woods, Kyle Woods, Tyler Woods, Joshua Woods, Todd Green and Nathan Woods will serve as pallbearers.
Born August 23, 1951 in Tifton, Mr. Woods was the son of Frances Ray Woods of Tifton and the late Carroll Ray Woods. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Susan Dixon Woods. He was a business owner and a member of Sherwood Baptist church in Albany, where he was a member of the Living Word Sunday School Class. He was also a member of the Woodmen of the World Society. He served in the Tifton Unit of the Georgia National Guard for six years.
In addition to his mother, Mr. Woods is survived by two sons, Bobby Keith Woods of Forsyth and Christopher Allen Woods of Leesburg; one daughter, Mary Frances Woods of Forsyth; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Roger Woods of Albany and Donald Keith Woods and Darrell Kenneth Woods, both of Tifton; five grandchildren; and three step-grandchildren.
