Mary Frances (Ellis) Buckner, 75, of Anderson died at her residence after an extended illness.
She was born December 24, 1941 in Anderson the daughter of Robert Dile Ellis, deceased and Grace Evelyn (Atkinson) Ellis Woods, deceased. She graduated in 1960 from Madison Heights High School.
She was a certified nursing assistant at Rolling Hills Convalescent Center and home Health Care about 16 years. She also set up buffets at Eastman Cafeteria and Linder's on the Pointe. She was an active member of Columbus Avenue Church of Christ in Anderson. She liked to read and write poetry and enjoyed home decorating.
She is survived by her husband, William "Bill" Charles Buckner whom she married on May 28, 1960, three children, Lisa Elaine Buckner Lane (Stephen Watson); Beverly G. Buckner Corbin and Mark Jason Buckner all of Anderson; 13 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Marvin Keith Ellis, sister, Judith E. Ellis and her daughter, Kimberly S. Dotson.
Service 1 p.m. on Tuesday, April 4 at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with Gary Meeker officiating. Burial will follow in East Maplewood Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 11a.m. until the service at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be given to American Cancer Society, Community Hospice or More Than Conquerors
