Obituary

Robert R Lacroix (Bob), 86 of Methuen, MA passed away peacefully on the morning of March 31, 2017. Bob was born on March 21, 1931 in Barton, VT, the son of Leonard and Amanda (LeBeau) Lacroix. Bob was always willing to help his friends and neighbors in any way he could, and was charitable to strangers. He was joyful and kind and was beloved by his extended family. He loved eating out and a strong cup of coffee, and was a regular patron of the old Bishop’s and Cedar Crest restaurants of Lawrence. Trips to the beach and spending time with his family were his favorite pastimes. He was wonderful with babies and small children. He will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all of those fortunate enough to have known him.

Bob served his country in the U.S. Army Air Force during the Korean conflict. He was a 1949 graduate of Central Catholic High School in Lawrence, MA. He was an active member at St. Monica’s church. Bob was a millwright and worked for over 30 years at the former Western Electric/AT&T manufacturing facility in North Andover, MA, retiring in 1989.

Bob leaves his wife of almost 60 years, Evelyn (Dubois) Lacroix of Methuen, MA. He leaves behind his beloved sister, Doris Thibodeau of Methuen, MA, two sisters-in-law, Claire Lacroix of Naples, FL, and Pauline Lacroix of Berwick, ME, and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. Bob was pre-deceased by his two brothers, Eugene Lacroix and Normand Lacroix, and his other four sisters, Anita Choquette, Annette Morel, Lillian Walton, and Yvette Arsenault.
He is survived by his two daughters, Nancy Igoe and her husband, Frank, of Walpole, MA, and Sandra Lacroix of Henrico, VA, and two sons, Daniel Lacroix of The Woodlands, TX, and Gary Lacroix and his wife, Dulcey, of Littleton, MA, plus eight grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. The eight grandchildren are Nicole Burnett and husband Chris of Endicott, NY, Brain Trask and wife Jessica of Charleston, SC, Emily Allen and husband Christopher of Foxboro, MA, Laura and Kate Igoe of Walpole, MA, and Zachary, Benjamin, and Mattias Lacroix of Littleton, MA.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at Our Lady of Good Counsel-St. Theresa’s Church, 22 Plymouth St. Methuen, MA 01844 on Monday, April 3, 2017 at 11:00 AM. Calling hours will be at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence St. Methuen, MA 01844 on Sunday April 2, 2017 from 2:00 PM until 6:00 PM. Interment to follow at Elmwood Cemetery of Methuen. In lieu of flowers, donations in Bob’s memory may be made to a charity of one's choice. The Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home is honored to serve the Lacroix family.
