Obituary

FALL RIVER… George Botelho, 84, of Fall River passed away Thursday, March 30, 2017 at his home.
He was the husband of Lucille L. (Luxo) Botelho and was the widower of Collette (Mailloux) Botelho.
Born in Fall River, he was a son of the late Manuel S. and Mary (Teixeira) Botelho. He had been a lifelong resident of Fall River.
Mr. Botelho was a 23 year veteran of the United States Airforce, serving during both the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War, earning the rank of Tech Sergeant. He worked for the United States Post Office for 15 years, was a communicant of St. Bernadette’s Parish, held an Associate’s Degree in Accounting and was a member of the D.A.V, V.F.W. and the High Hill Fox & Coon Club.
Along with his wife, survivors include his son, George Botelho, Jr. of Fall River, his daughter, Cherie Anne Botelho and her fiance, Charles Casciotta of Bristol, CT, his step-daughter, June Cook and her husband Robert of Fall River, his step-son, Raymond Vasconcellos of Fall River, his sister, Delores Silva of Fall River, 6 grandchildren including Nicole Lynn Dupre, 4 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. He was brother of the late Manuel Botelho, Joseph Botelho, Dorothy Botelho and Evelyn Benfieto.
The family would like to extend a special thank s to the Same Day Surgery Center at Charlton Memorial Hospital and Kindred Home Health Care and Kindred Hospice for the exceptional care they provided.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Tuesday at 9 AM from the South Coast Funeral Home, 1555 Pleasant St. Fall River, MA followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM at St. Bernadette’s Parish, 529 Eastern Ave. Fall River. Interment will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Fall River. Calling hours will be held Monday from 5-8 PM.
