Dorain, Elsie A. (Ahlberg) 87, of Needham, formerly of Wellesley Hills and Lexington died on March 28, 2017. Devoted mother of Melanie Green and her husband Richard of Wellesley Hills and Douglas Dorain and his wife Ruth of Wilder, VT. Loving grandmother of Kirby Grochal and her husband Andrew, Kevin Green, Connor Green and his wife Laura, Stephanie, Mitchell, Christopher and Nicholas Dorain. Loving great-grandmother of Derek Grochal. Long-time companion of Leonard Greenbaum.
After raising her two children, Elsie attended and proudly graduated from Wellesley College's Continuing Education Program in 1977, and went on to work in the Development Office of the College. In 1985, she moved with her former husband Paul Dorain to South Hadley, MA where she worked at several other colleges and a development/ fundraising consulting firm. During the past seven years at North Hill Needham, she enjoyed many friendships and especially the Friday Night Forum which she helped manage.
A funeral service for Elsie will be held on Tuesday, April 4 in the Wellesley Hills Congregational Church, 207 Washington St. Wellesley Hills at 11AM. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Interment Private.
In lieu of flowers, friends and family may give to the Wellesley Hills Congregational Church or to Wellesley College in memory of Elsie Dorain class of 1977.
