Gertrude C. “Gram” (Barre) Griffiths, age 99, a lifelong resident of Mansfield, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her adoring family, in the comfort of her home on Wednesday, March 29, 2017.
She was the beloved wife of the late Richard Griffiths, the late William Winton and former wife of the late Theodore Wuschke.
Born in Whitinsville, MA on April 13, 1917, she was a daughter of the late Leon and Cecelia (Barry) Barre. She grew up and was educated in Mansfield.
Gram had worked as candy packer at the former Chocolate Factory in Mansfield and served as a dedicated caregiver to her late husband Richard.
She treasured times spent with family, especially with her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Her favorite pastimes were gardening, reading and spoiling her family with her exceptional baking skills.
She is survived by her devoted children Theodore Wuschke and his wife Patricia of Bonita Springs, Florida, Patricia M. Lestan of Mansfield, Marie D. MacKay and her husband Richard of East Providence, RI and the late Wesley Winton. She was the dear sister of the late Robert Barre and Royal Barre, and is also survived by her cherished 12 grandchildren, many great grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Services and burial will be private and visiting hours have been omitted.
