Theresa D. Sullivan
…one of the first employees of Wang; 91
TEWKSBURY - Mrs. Theresa D. (LeBel) Sullivan, age 91, died peacefully on Wednesday, March 29, at Lowell General’s Saints Campus after a brief illness. She had been in residence for the last eighteen months at Wingate at Belvedere, where in spite of her sight and hearing impairments, led a full and rewarding life. She was married to the love of her life Frank J. Sullivan Jr. for 58 years until his death in 2005.
Theresa was born in Lowell, in June 1925, a daughter of the late Anna (Harrison) and Wilfred LeBel. She attended St Jean D'arc School and graduated St. Patrick’s High School in 1943. In her early years Theresa worked as a receptionist for Dr Chernoff, M.D. Changing careers, she became one of the original twenty employees for Wang Labs, where she retired as a department head in assembly.
She was loved by many, whether she was Terry, Theresa, Mrs. Sullivan or just Sullivan, mother, mother in law, sister, aunt, or friend, and held a special place in the hearts of many.
Special thanks to her sister Gilberte Mullin, her nephew Peter Mullin, dear friends Liz Keegan, Mary Fran Chisholm, and Patti Fowler for their love, care, and companionship during her stay at Wingate of Belvidere.
Theresa shared an exceptionally close relationship with her daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Barry Ware of Lowell, and takes a big part of their hearts with her.
Besides her beloved daughter and son-in-law, she is survived by her sister Gilberte Mullin; sisters-in-law Kay Doak, Linda Sullivan, Marie Nolan; sister-in-laws and husbands Patricia and Ed Duffett, Carol and Victor Chartier, Janet and Rick Martin, Rita and Mike Hassett; brothers-in-law and wife James and Kathy Sullivan, Patrick Sullivan and his former wife Donna Sullivan, and William Lamarre; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her brothers and wives, Emile and Jeannette LeBel, Robert and Claire LeBel; sisters and husbands, Colette and Peter Bouchard, brother-in-law Peter Mullin, her in-laws, Frank and Katherine Sullivan, Eleanor and William Edge, Charles and Mary Sullivan, Daniel and Theresa Sullivan, Richard Sullivan, David Sullivan, Jean LaMarre, William Nolan, Earl Doak, Paul Audette.
Relatives and friends will be received Saturday morning from 9:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. in the Tewksbury Funeral Home, corner of 1 Dewey and 975 Main Sts. (Rte. 38) TEWKSBURY CENTER, Ph. (800 in MA or 978) 851 2950. Her Funeral Mass will follow at 11:30 a.m. in St. William’s Church, 1351 Main St. (Rte. 38) Tewksbury. Burial will be in Tewksbury Cemetery.
