Obituary

John F. Sperandio, age 92, of Brockton, died March 27, 2017 at his home surrounded by his five children. He was the loving husband of the late Audrey P. (Eakins) Sperandio. John was born and raised in Marlboro, a son of the late Desidario and Filomena (Testa) Sperandio. He was a graduate of Marlboro High School and served in the US Navy during WWII as a pilot and bombardier, stationed in Florida, California and Hawaii.

John was an accomplished golfer and had a long career as a golf course superintendent at Marlboro CC, Framingham CC and Spring Valley CC in Sharon. He was a lifetime member of the Massachusetts Golf Course Superintendent’s Association and consulted as a golf course architect and turf specialist.

John is survived by his five children, John Sperandio, Jr. and his wife Jill of Bangkok, Thailand, Robert Sperandio and his wife Carol of Dallas, TX, Mary Sperandio of Brockton, Patricia Montanaro and her husband Joseph of Walpole and Thomas Sperandio of Brockton; seven grandchildren John Jay, Robert, William, Katherine and Christopher Sperandio and Joseph and John Montanaro; three great grandchildren Sebastien, Lydia and Ethan and a sister Antoinette Arcabascio of Shrewsbury. John was the brother of the late Nazareth, Peter and Anthony Sperandio.

Visitation will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street, (Rte 123) Brockton on Saturday, April 1, 9:30-10:30 am, with a funeral service at 10:30 am. Burial will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery.
