Lillie Mae Davis, 97, of Tifton, formerly of Los Angeles, California, passed away Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at Tifton Health and Rehabilitation (Golden Living Center). A graveside funeral service will be held for Ms. Davis at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 1, 2017, at Tift Memorial Gardens, where she will be laid to rest. Elder Robert Howard will officiate. The family will receive friends Friday, March 31, 2017, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Born January 16, 1920 in Jones County, Ms. Davis was the daughter of the late Pim Davis and Hattie Nivins Davis. She was also preceded in death by five brothers; one sister; and one nephew, Cecil Peterson. Before retiring, she was a registered nurse in Los Angeles, California.
Ms. Davis is survived by four sisters and one brother-in-law, Susie Peterson of Pemberton, New Jersey and Hattie and Samuel McEntyre, Mary McNeal and Minnie Lee Terrell, all of Tifton; her nieces and nephews and their spouses, Eva and Frank Foster of Columbus, Robert Cobb Jr. of Tifton, Larry Peterson of North Carolina, Gregory and Jan Peterson of New Jersey, Randy Peterson of Maryland, Brenda Foster of Tifton and Andrew and Josephine Foster of Savannah, Allen Davis and family of Tifton, Tommy Davis of McRae and Mary Davis of Tifton; and a host of great-nieces and great-nephews.
