Robert J. Fales, of Tewksbury formerly of Wilmington passed away unexpectedly March 27, 2017, at the Lowell General Hospital. He was 69 years of age. Born in Malden he was the son of the late Edward and Helen (Edgerly) Fales.
Robert was raised and educated in Somerville and was a 1966 graduate of Somerville High School. A proud United States Army Veteran, Robert honorably served during the Vietnam War from 1968 to 1971. When he returned home from the service he worked for many years as a talented union carpenter. Many of those years were with the Macomber Construction Company of Boston. Later in life Robert purchased a distribution franchise providing Pepperidge Farm Baked goods all over the greater Boston area. He operated the business for many years until his retirement. Prior to living in Tewksbury for the past three years, Robert lived in Wilmington where he raised his family and was always active with his growing family and coached Little League Baseball. Robert loved being outdoors, hunting, fishing and boating. He was an avid sports fan and a food enthusiast. However his greatest joy was his family and nothing made him happier than to spend time with his grandchildren whom he was so proud of.
Robert was the devoted and beloved father of Jennifer Curreri and her husband Tony of Tewksbury, Robert J. Fales II and his fiancée Alicia O'Neil of Billerica. He was the loving grandfather of Tatum Fales, Anthony and Domenic Curreri. Brother of Donna Zambernardi of North Andover, Beverly Zambernardi of Hampton, NH, the late Edward Fales and Gene Wackrow. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to gather at the Dello Russo Family Funeral Home, 374 Main St., Wilmington, Saturday, April 1st, from 1 to 4 p.m. concluding with a memorial service and Military Honors. It has been requested that in lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Bob's memory to the Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box 758517, Topeka, Kansas 66675-8517.
