Howard “Earl” Fletcher, Sr., 78, of Tifton passed away Tuesday, March 28, 2017, at the Rehabilitation Center of South Georgia in Tifton. His funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Friday, March 31, 2017, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Landon Alberson officiating. Mr. Fletcher will be laid to rest at Lawrence Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday, March 30, 2017, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Jason Hall, Jay Weinreich, Hunter Dunn, Gunner George, Ralph Fletcher and Krysti Fletcher Mullis will serve as pallbearers.
Born January 26, 1939 in Tifton, Mr. Fletcher was the son of the late William Allie Fletcher and Clifford Aimeson Fletcher. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Lillian Estelle Sumner Fletcher; three brothers; and several sisters. He was a veteran of the United States Army and also served in the Georgia National Guard.
Mr. Fletcher is survived by six sons and three daughters-in-law, Ralph and Angie Fletcher, Howard Jr. “Buddy” and Lynn Fletcher and Joseph Cecil Hall, all of Tifton, David Fletcher of California, Alan and Greta Fletcher of Florida and Dale Phillips; one daughter, Cynthia Curp of Tifton; one sister and brother-in-law, Carolyn and Ed White of Tifton; a sister-in-law, Virginia Fletcher of Tifton; nine grandchildren, Jason Hall, Ashli Fletcher Youngblood, Krysti Fletcher Mullis, Brian Curp, Kim Perry, Beth Curp, Joey Sellars, Rachel Saucier Jackson and Sarah Saucier; and 15 great-grandchildren.
