HUDSON
Scott J. Tobin, 22, passed away at home on Saturday, March 25, 2017. Scott was a victim of the opiate epidemic, struggling for the past 2 years to overcome the disease of addiction.
Born in Newton on June 7, 1994, he was the son of Gary and Nancy (Vartanian) Tobin.
Scott is survived by his loving sister, Melissa C. Tobin of Hudson; his grandmother Sonia J. Vartanian of Newton, MA; his aunt and uncle Joyce and David Nuzzi of Waltham, MA; his aunt and uncle Carol and Phil Lakin of Spring Hill, FL; his cousin and godson, Michael Nuzzi; and close family friend, Patty Flannery. He is the grandson of the late Haig Vartanian of Newton.
Scott was raised and lived in Hudson, MA. He went to Hubert Kindergarten, KAPS, Mulready Elementary School, Chaps, and J.F.K. Middle School and graduated in 2012 from Hudson High School. Scott attended Franklin Pierce, Southern Maine Community College, and was a current student at Mass Bay. He participated in baseball, basketball, football, and soccer through the Hudson Rec Dept., and played on summer travel teams including the 12 yr. old Cal Ripken baseball team that won the State Championship. Later that team traveled to Cooperstown Dreams Park, where during a 95 degree week, Scott battled for every catch, and finally had his dream homerun over the wall.
Everyone who knew Scott was touched by his smile and laughter. He was charismatic and filled any room with his natural expression of happiness. Scott loved playing baseball and went to the MIAA State Championship with HHS. He enjoyed snowboarding and going to Good Harbor Beach to ride the waves and eat lobster. Scott learned to waterski in Maine with a childhood friend, and loved to JetSki in Florida when visiting family.
Scott loved his family. His closeness and love for his sister Melissa was evident his entire life. They were inseparable as children and this closeness only became stronger as they grew. Scott and Melissa helped each other in any situation. It is hard to imagine a brother and sister more devoted to each other. Scott loved spending time with his beloved godson, Michael.
Scott will be missed by all, especially his loving mother, father and sister who were given the gift of Scott for too short of a time. Scott would want to be kept forever in the hearts of all who knew him.
