Jimmy Joe Hampton, age 73, died Sunday, March 26, 2017 at his home in Water Valley, MS. He was born February 6, 1944 in Memphis, TN to the late Kenneth C. and Shirley Faye Davis Hampton. Joe served in the United States Army was very involved in supporting veterans in any way that he could. He loved serving his community and helping anyone in need. Joe currently worked as a tool maker for Parker Hannifin in Batesville, MS. From the age of 15 years, Joe had a passion for riding motorcycles and he especially enjoyed riding with the Patriot Guard for various events. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Joe is survived by his wife of 26 years, Elvia Hampton of Water Valley, MS; his daughter, Ashley (Brian) Dikes of Quitman, MS; one brother, Wes (SumLim) Hampton of VA; a brother-in-law, James (Sandra) Bergeron of Gulfport, MS; and his grandson, Jacob.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Sam Hampton.
