Josephine M. (Spinale) Gallant of Medford died on Sunday, March 26, at the Melrose/Wakefield Hospital. Born and raised in Boston's West End, she was the daughter of the late Domenic and Mary (LaPorta) Spinale. Josephine lived for 10 years in East Boston before settling in Medford in the early 1970s.
Josephine was the beloved wife of Raymond Gallant, and sister of Frank Spinale, Patricia "Mela" Cappello and her husband Matthew, Domenic Spinale and his wife Lisa, and the late Joseph "Skinny" Spinale, Salvatore "Sam" Spinale, Anthony "Oakie" Spinale, and Angelina Spinale. She is also survived by brother-in-law Leonard Gallant and his wife Nancy, as well as many loving nieces and nephews.
A funeral mass will be celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 118 High St., Medford, on Wednesday, March 29 at 11:30 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may visit with the family at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, from 9:30 through 11 AM prior to the mass. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
