Obituary



Salvatore J. “Sal” Sansone died unexpectedly in his Quincy home at the age of 79.

Sal is survived by his former wife, Clare Sansone of Pembroke; Loving father of David Michael Sansone of Holbrook, Marie and Manuel DaSilva of Rockland, Teresa and Ernest Durand Jr. of Manchester, NH and Judith Sansone of Hanson; his beloved granddaughters, Sara and Emily Sansone, Bethany DaSilva and Amy Diaferio; and many loving nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his siblings, Nicholas, Pat, Joseph, Anthony, Mary, Lucy, and Anne.

Sal was born on August 12, 1937 in Dorchester, MA to John and Josephine Sansone. He attended Dorchester High School and entered the United States Air Force in 1955. He married Clare, his high school sweetheart in 1959. After moving to Pembroke, Sal began his own business, Sal Sansone Plumbing and Heating Company. He continued to pursue his passion for plumbing as a plumbing educator, inspector, and state investigator. He received many honors from his colleagues for his dedication and contributions to the plumbing profession.

Sal enjoyed cooking and often gifted his famous meatballs and sauce to friends and family. He loved telling stories about his Italian heritage. He was an avid sports fan, and ballroom dancer. He was a very generous individual who loved his faith, his family and friends, and his profession.

A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday April 1st at 10:00 AM at St. Thecla Church, 145 Washington St, Pembroke, with a reception to follow at The Pembroke Country Club. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Sal’s life. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the American Diabetes Association or charity of your choice.
