Cleo Roberts Hammonds
Grovetown, GA – Graduated into Heaven Saturday, March 25, 2017, Cleo Roberts Hammonds, 93, wife of the late Guy G. Hammonds.
Mrs. Hammonds was a native of Clearwater, SC but has lived in the Augusta area since she was 17 years old. She was a devoted homemaker, a loving wife and mother, Sunday school teacher, and a very giving person who passed her virtues to her children. She was a member of South Augusta Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Family members include her five sons and three daughters: Guy G. and Velvet Hammonds, Jr. of Phoenix City, AL, Linda H. Anderson of Grovetown, Judy H. and Randall Wilkinson of Augusta, Diane H. Sutton of Grovetown, Angie Hammonds of Augusta, Richard C. and Beatrice Hammonds of Harlem, Phillip D. and Sherry Hammonds of Martinez; 18 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her parents: Fredrick C. and Della Smith Roberts; daughter: Della Anne Hammonds; sons: Robert C. Hammonds and Fredrick C. Hammonds; and son-in-law, Larry Anderson.
The funeral service will be held Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with Rev. Reagan Sommers and Rev. Chris Williford officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
