COLLERAN Patricia Jeanne (Fahey) of Readville, age 83, died Saturday March 25, 2017 following a period of declining health. She leaves her husband of nearly 60 years, Myles Colleran of Readville; daughters Michelle Colleran Cook and her husband Edward of Franklin; Patricia Colleran Hoey of Readville; Charleen Colleran Lombardi and her husband John of Dedham; her son Kevin Colleran and his fiancé Carmen Castellanos of Cumberland RI; and her former daughter-in-law Dolly Colleran, of East Bridgewater. She also leaves behind seven beloved grandchildren, Audrey, Meredith, and Patrick Cook; Michaela Colleran; Madison Hoey; and Jonathan and Matthew Lombardi as well as many lifelong friends. She was predeceased by her siblings, Thomas and John Fahey, and Rose Carroll.
Daughter of Thomas B. and Viola (Violette) Fahey, Patricia was a proud resident of Readville. She attended Hyde Park High School and upon graduation worked as an operator for the telephone company. After marrying the boy next door, and having her family, she worked at Howard Johnson's, The Boston Globe, and retired from Boston Mutual Company.
Patricia was an imaginative and innovated talent. She played several musical instruments, (piano, organ & accordion) and was an expert seamstress. She was an accomplished knitter, crocheter, and cake decorator and never encountered a home improvement project she couldn't master. Her housekeeping skills are legendary and her children will tell you they most certainly grew up in the cleanest house in Boston.
An active member of St. Anne Parish, her most meaningful and important achievements were making a home for her husband, raising her children, and enjoying her grandchildren. Pat was kind and compassionate and the empty spot her passing leaves is a devastating loss for those who loved her.
Funeral from the George F. Doherty & Sons Wilson-Cannon 456 High St. DEDHAM on Wednesday, March 29th at 9am. Followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Anne Church, Readville at 10am. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Visiting hours Tuesday March 28th from 4-8pm. Interment Brookdale Cemetery, Dedham.
