Roy M. Barnes
Martinez, GA – Entered into rest Saturday, March 25, 2017, Mr. Roy M. Barnes, 77, husband of Mrs. Sybil Clark Barnes of 52 years.
Mr. Barnes was a native and lifelong resident of Martinez, GA. He was a member of Central Christian Church for 50 years. He loved his church and was a deacon as well as serving in many other capacities. Mr. Barnes worked in sales with Gates Rubber Company and in later years was a greeter at Walmart. Mr. Barnes was the President of the Augusta Reading Foundation and was the owner of Simple Computer Solutions.
Family members in addition to his wife include daughter: Scarlett Gladue (Bruce) of Grovetown, GA; son: John Ashley Barnes (Debra) of Evans, GA ; grandchildren: Savana Ashley Gladue, Rhett Ethen Barnes, Brandon Michael McAllister; great granddaughter: Eleanore Cadance McAllister; sisters: Eleanor Hinson (James) and Rebecca Yarbrough; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents George & Anne Barnes; his brother L.M. Barnes.
A funeral service will be Tuesday, March 28, 2017, at 2:00 P.M. in chapel at Bellevue Memorial Gardens with Rev. Steve Croft officiating. Interment will follow in the Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Dr. Tracy Middlebrooks, Joe Price, Frank Thomas, III, Ronnie Powell, Harold Gay, James Pounds and Edward Pounds.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service beginning at 1:00 P.M. at Bellevue Memorial Gardens.
