Crescenzo Federico, of Peabody formerly of Boston's North End, passed away peacefully following a lengthy illness, March 23, 2017 at the Salem Hospital. He was 74 years of age. He was the beloved husband of Graziella Federico. Born in Pettorano Sul Gizio, Abruzzo, Italy, he was the son of the late Domenico and Chiara (Tiberi) Federico.
"Chris" as he affectionately known to family and friends, came to the United States in 1962 settling in Boston's North End. Chris worked for many years as a talented chef. In 1985 he opened his own restaurant, Amici's Restaurant of Billerica that he operated for more than twenty years. Mostly devoted to his family, He cherished spending time with his wife, children and especially his grandchildren who he was most proud of. He will be greatly missed.
In addition to his beloved wife Graziella, He is survived by his devoted children, Domenic Federico and his wife Laura of Londonderry, NH, and Rossana Houvardas and her husband Nick of Peabody. He was the loving grandfather of Tianna, Domenic and Anthony Federico, William, Nicholas, Mathew, Michael and Maya Houvardas. Cherished brother of Robert Federico his wife Sandra of Stoneham, and their children, Robert, Alexa and Alana. Brother-in-law of Fernando and Josephine DeSantis of Melrose and their children, Fernando and Massimo.
Funeral services will be held from the Dello Russo Family Funeral Home, 306 Main St., MEDFORD, Monday, March 27th, at 10:30 a.m. followed by a funeral mass celebrated in the Immaculate Conception Church, 600 Pleasant St., Malden, at 11:30 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Sunday from 4 thru 8 p.m. Services will conclude with entombment at Woodlawn Mausoleum, Everett.
