Margaret Emily “Peggy” Slowik, age 64, passed away on Mar. 21, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Springfield on June 24, 1952 to the late William and Viola (Peloquin) Sullivan. Margaret attended Holyoke Catholic and graduated from Chicopee Comp. She then attended STCC and was certified as a surgical technologist. She worked at Holyoke Hospital and was loved by all her friends at BOSC for over 28 years. Peggy lit up a room and always had kind words to say about everyone. She was hardworking and dedicated to her job. She was predeceased by her husband John Edward Slowik who passed away on Mar. 27, 2009. She leaves one son Matthew J. Slowik and his wife Kelli Abreu of Suffield; one daughter, Meghan K. Slowik and Ryan Ashley of West Springfield; two grandsons, Azrael Garber and Connor Ashley; one brother, William Sullivan of Springfield; four sisters, Maureen Kennedy and her husband Morgan of S. Hadley, Joanne Adams and her husband Jimmy of Amarillo, TX, Elaine Regnier of Springfield and Gail Funk and her husband Henry of S. Hadley and she also leaves many nieces and nephews. Calling Hours will be held on Sat, Mar. 25, 2017 from 10.00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Grise Funeral Home 280 Springfield St. Chicopee with a Prayer Service to take place at 1:00 PM. Burial is private.
