Edward A. Lamson, 74, of the Taber Mill Apartments in New Bedford died Monday March 20, 2017 at St. Luke's Hospital.
Born in Boston, the son of the late Harry E. and Elizabeth C. (McArdle) Lamson, he lived in the Greater Boston area for many years before moving to New Bedford 15 years ago.
Mr. Lamson was formerly employed as a taxi cab driver for Independent Cab Company of Boston for many years until his retirement.
He was a kind and gentle man, who was a devoted son, brother, and uncle. His neighbors knew him as "the Ice Cream Man."
He is survived by three siblings, Cathey Lamson, Elizabeth Lamson, and Robert Lamson; and many nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was the brother of the late Patricia Lamson, Thomas Lamson, and Kenneth Lamson.
