Robert E. “Bob” Tingley, 80, of Franklin and formerly of Woburn died Monday, March 20, 2017 at the Milford Regional Medical Center. Born in Milford, June 5, 1936, he was the son of the late Frederick J. and Margaret C. (Small) Tingley.
Bob was raised in Medway and was a 1954 graduate of Saint Mary’s High School in Milford. He was a Store Manager for Kennedy’s Clothing Store for over 40 years and then worked for Brook’s Brothers Clothing Store for 9 years before retiring in 2003.
Bob was a communicant of Saint Charles Catholic Church in Woburn for over 40 years where he served as an usher at the church for many years.
He enjoyed trips to the casinos with his sister and together they traveled to many places but his favorite was Aruba where they made 49 trips over the years.
He is survived by his sister Mary Lou (Tingley) Staples, his nephews, Medway Police Chief Allen M. Tingley and his wife Charlene, Paul Tingley, Timothy Tingley and Mark Tingley, all of Medway. He was the brother of the late Frederick “Allen” Tingley who died in 2012 and the brother-in-law of the late Alice Mae Tingley who died in 2015.
He is also survived by his grandnieces and grandnephews Nichole, Bryon, Susan, Rebecca, Billy, Kyle and Hannah and great-grandnieces and great-grandnephew Madison, Molly, Ava, Michael, Lilliana, Mia and Zoey.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a calling hour on Thursday, March 23 from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. in the Ginley Crowley Funeral Home, 3 Barber St., Medway (www.ginleyfuneralhomes.com) followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Joseph Church, 151 Village St., Medway at 11 a.m. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Medway.
