Nancy L. Amaru, 83, of Rockland, MA died on March 18th at All American Assisted Living in Hanson, MA.
Born in Marblehead, Massachusetts in 1933, she was the beloved daughter in law of the late Joseph and Nina Amaru of Quincy, MA and sister of the late David Jeffrey of Houston, TX.
She graduated from Marblehead High School and eventually became a bookkeeper for several companies in the convention management industry. She lived in Randolph, MA for 43 years before she moved to Scituate and eventually Rockland, MA. She was an avid bowler, loved to garden and for 17 years cared for her Border Collie, Rufus. Nancy married Louis J. Amaru in 1953.
She leaves behind 3 daughters and 1 son, Mary Amaru of Scituate, MA, Lois Amaru of San Rafael, CA, Ann Amaru of Venice, FL and Jack Amaru of Rockland, MA; 4 grandchildren, Kori Mofford of Stoughton, MA, Greer Amaru of Boston, MA and Garrett Amaru of New York and the late Paul Amaru; 2 great grandchildren Colby Mofford and Addison Mofford of Stoughton, MA.
Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday March 21 from 4PM to 7PM at Blanchard Funeral Chapel, 666 Plymouth Street (Route 58 @ the rotary) Whitman, MA and Funeral Services are being held on Wednesday March 22nd at 10 AM, with burial to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Scituate, MA. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
