Sherrill “Lea” Whittington, 44, of New Bedford, MA passed away Sunday, March 12, 2017.
She was the daughter of Rosemarie Young W. Amado and Carlos A. Amado.
Lea was born June 14, 1972 in Boone, North Carolina and lived in New Bedford most of her life. Lea was a loving mother, daughter, sister, aunt, niece, granddaughter, godmother and a loyal friend to those she loved.
Lea is survived by her parents, son Aaron P. Whittington, daughter MaKayla M. Lopes, three sisters, Aisha M. Amado, Latasha W. Grant and Leah W. Scott, three brothers, John L. Whittington, Lee Whittington and Dean A. Daigle, grandmothers, Honolou J. Young and Rachel G. Whittington, godmother, Mitzi Grimes, loving uncle John G. Young and “comadre” Leslie Anderson.
Lea was predeceased by her father, Lee Gary Whittington, great-aunt, Lala M. Grimes, great-uncle Charles Paul Grimes and great-uncle Grady Jackson.
