Alice G. Timmins, 95, of Windham, NH died Saturday, September 3, 2005 at her residence. She was born in Stratham, NH on August 16, 1910, a daughter of the late Howard M. And Lizzie B. (Thurston) Wiggin. Raised in Stratham, she was a 1929 graduate of the Robinson Female Seminary in Exeter, NH. She lived for many years in Orange, MA and later for five years in Conway, NH prior to relocating to Derry, NH in 1963. She has resided in Windham for the past four years. Mrs. Timmins was a member of the Central Congregational Church of Derry, the AARP, the Derry Garden Club and the Thalian Club of Derry. She was pre-deceased by her husband, William J. Timmins in 1976.
Family members include a daughter, Mary Jane Gantzler and her husband Richard of Reston, VA, two step-grandchildren, Valerie Gantzler of Aurora, CO and Richard E. Gantzler of San Antonio, TX, a step great grandchild, many nieces, nephews and cousins.
There are no calling hours. Following cremation, a memorial service was held on Friday, September 9th at 11 AM in the Central Congregational Church, 14 Crescent St., Derry. Private burial was in Forest Hill Cemetery, E. Derry, NH. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, Gail Singer Memorial Bldg., 360 Route 101, Suite 501, Bedford, NH 03110-5032 , the American Heart Association, Northeast Affiliate, 2 Wall St., Manchester, NH 03101 or the charity of one’s choice. The Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry handled the arrangements.
