Richard R. Goupil, 84, of Gorham, passed away on Wednesday March 1, 2017 at the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center. He was born in Berlin on January 6, 1933 the son of Adelard and Germaine (Deseves) Goupil and was a lifelong resident of the area. He graduated from Notre Dame High School and had served in the Air Force during the Korean War. Richard owned and operated R. Goupil Lumber and Construction and was a member of the Knights of Columbus and Holy Family Church. He enjoyed golfing, bowling, being active and was always tinkering on small projects.
Family includes his wife Noella (Fleury) Goupil of Gorham; his children Norman Goupil and wife Susan of Milan and Daniel Goupil and wife Lucy of Berlin; brother Paul Goupil of Florida; step children Sherman and Gayle Lawhorn, Carl and Elaine Belanger, Rena J. Belanger, Bruce Belanger and Kathy Crabtree, Gary and Louise Belanger, Ann and Richard Lam and Mark and Louise Belanger; grandchildren, great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild; nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his first wife Jeannine Goupil in 1994 and brother Roger Goupil and his wife Colleen and sisters Fleurette Ryan and husband James and Yolande Bilodeau and husband Henri.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday May 13, 2017 at 10 AM at the Bryant Funeral Home, 180 Hillside Ave., Berlin. Relatives and friends may call from 9AM to 10AM prior to the service. Interment with military honors will follow in the St. Kieran Cemetery.
