Obituary

Judith “Judy” K. (Carlson) Buchanio, 75 of Franklin, died March 10 in Milford Regional Medical Center. By her side were her three daughters, Vicki, Maureen and Kerry and dear family friend Jason Risotti. She was the wife of the late John “Hot Dog” Buchanio, Jr. who died last February.

Born in Franklin, February 16,1942, the daughter of the late George and Ann (Cray) Carlson, Mrs. Buchanio was a lifelong Franklin resident.

Judy was a graduate of Franklin High School and attended business school.

Mrs. Buchanio had worked as a key punch operator at the Foxboro Company for many years. Following working at the Foxboro Company she was a library assistant at the Franklin Library for 10 years before retiring.

Judy loved being at the library and helping people find the book they wanted or helping find a book she knew they would like. She herself was an avid reader.

She is survived by her daughters Vicki Buchanio Earls and her husband Alan of Franklin, Maureen Buchanio Simpson and her husband Karl of Franklin and Kerry Buchanio and her partner Steven Finlay of Bellingham.

She is also survived by her sister Joanne Dixon and her husband Walter of Virginia Beach, Virginia and was the sister of the late William Carlson.

She is also survived b her grandchildren, Rebecca and Erik Simpson and her step-grandsons, Eamon and Ethan Earls.

Her funeral service will be held on Monday, March 13, in the Ginley Funeral Home of Franklin (www.ginleyfuneralhomes.com) 131 Main Street, Franklin at 7:00 p.m.

Burial will be later at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Franklin.

Calling hours will be on Monday from 4-7 p.m.
