FALL RIVER – Jose Vieira doRego, age 93 of Fall River, passed away on Thursday, March 9, 2017 at St. Anne’s Hospital with his loving family by his side. Born in Fenais da Luz, São Miguel, Açores, he was the beloved husband of Maria O. “Cecilia” (Chaves) doRego (of Capelas) & the son of the late Manuel Vieira doRego & Maria Jose (Felix) Silva. Prior to retiring, Jose worked for the Foxboro Co. as a maintenance man.
In addition to his wife, he leaves a son: Joseph Manuel Rego of Fall River and a daughter: Lydia Rego-Gendreau (husband Gerard) of Somerset. He also leaves behind cousins and 2 nieces. He was the brother of the late Cristina (Silva-Rego) Pereira.

His funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home, Inc. 1521 N. Main St. Fall River on Monday at 10:00 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Santo Christo Church at 11:00 A.M. Interment in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours on Sunday 4-6 P.M.
