
Daniel J. Poirier, 67 of Salem, passed away Tuesday night at the North Shore Medical Center / Salem Hospital following a brief illness. He was the son of the late Joseph Alphee and Eliane M.L. (Lavergne) Poirier.
Born and raised in Lynn, Danny was a graduate of Lynn English High School. A veteran of the Vietnam War, he served in Japan, Thailand and the Philippine Islands with the US Air Force. Shortly after his tour of duty, he completed a course in drafting with ITT Tech. For over thirty years he was employed as a machinist for True Connector of Peabody. Dan enjoyed gardening and was an avid baseball and hockey fan.
He is survived by his two sisters, Cecile G. Poirier of Wiscasset, ME and Annette E. Poirier of Salem. He also leaves several aunts, uncles and cousins in Canada and France.
