Obituary

WORCESTER-Raymond D. Toloczko, 79, of 6 Saratoga Drive, formerly of 42 Mann Street, died suddenly Monday, September 5th, in UMass Hospital. He leaves his wife of 39 years, Christine D. (Dowd) Toloczko, a son; Joseph R. Toloczko, a teacher and basketball coach at Doherty Memorial High School, of Worcester, a daughter; Dr. Marie C. wife of Scott L. Early of Norcross, GA and 2 grandsons; Ian C. and Connor P. Early. He was predeceased by a brother; Francis Toloczko and 6 sisters; Theresa York, Genevieve Hedge, Mary Kuzmicki, Julia Dziejma, Gladys Paige and Rita Mitchell.

He was born in Leicester, the son of Gregory and Julia (Oleski) Toloczko, and was a graduate of Leicester High School. Mr. Toloczko was employed as a forklift operator for Thom McAn for 37 years. Later he worked as a custodian and maintenance person for the Diocese of Worcester Chancery Office for 13 years. He enjoyed visiting his grandsons, working on his house, around the yard, watching sports and attending basketball games at Doherty Memorial High School and helping others.

The funeral is Thursday, September 8th from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue, with a Mass at 10:00 AM St. George’s Church, 38 Brattle Street. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Calling hours are Wednesday, August 7th, from 5:00 until 8:00 PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. George’s Church, 40 Brattle Street, Worcester, MA 01606 or to the Red Cross Hurricane Katrina Disaster Relief, 2000 Century Drive, West Boylston, MA 01583.
