Evelyn T. (Tavares) Machado, age 90, of Somerset, passed away on Tuesday March 7, 2017. She was the wife of the late Louis S. Machado, and daughter of the late Manuel and Margaret (Rapoza) Tavares. Evelyn was the owner of Modern Dress Company and enjoyed ceramics, reading, traveling, sewing, knitting, and puzzles.
She is survived by her daughters; Kathleen Doucette (husband Kenneth) and Jacqueline Soares (husband Craig), grandchildren; Karolyn Sullivan, Kristine Amarantes, Ashley Paiva, and Paige Couture, great-grandchildren; Trevor and Cassie Amarantes, Collin Sullivan, Lillian Furtado, Sophie and Adrianna Paiva, 2 nephews and 2 nieces. She was also the sister of the late Daniel and John Tavares.
Private funeral arrangements were under the direction of Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home 1521 N. Main St. Fall River. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her name to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital PO Box 1000 Dept. 142 Memphis TN 38101-9908
