Obituary

Chester E. Eaton, 87, of Londonderry, NH died Sunday June 2, 2002 at the Elliot Hospital, Manchester, NH. He was born in Beverly, MA on May 28, 1915, the son of the late Chester J. and Hazel (Wentworth) Eaton. He was a resident of Londonderry for 54 years, formerly living in Salem, MA. He served as a member of the National Guard, Salem, MA, prior to World War II. During World War II, Mr. Eaton served in the Army Air Force. He was employed by the US Government as an Inspector of Naval Materials. He was one of the original volunteer firefighters for the Town of Londonderry.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years Barbara (Walton) Eaton, of Londonderry, two daughters, Nancy B. Husson, of Beverly, MA, Janet M. White, of Londonderry, one son, Gary W. Eaton, of Williston, VT, 14 grandchildren, two great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his daughter Sandra Theodore in August of 2000 and by his son Chester E. Eaton Jr. in 1942.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday June 5, 2002 at 10:00am at the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Road, Londonderry. Graveside services will be held Wednesday at 2:00pm at the Greenlawn Cemetery, Salem, MA. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday June 4, 2002 from 6 – 8 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
