Giovanni “John” LoBrutto, of Medford, passed away suddenly at his home on Saturday, March 4th. He was 62.
It is with deep, and heavy sadness that we announce the death of Giovanni “John” LoBrutto, he passed away very sudden and unexpectedly in his sleep in the early hours of March 4th.
Johnny is one of the few honorable men who exemplify strength, forgiveness, and selflessness. Married to Joan, the love of his life for 35 years, they solidified their children's beliefs in eternal love and in marriage. They are role models for commitment and unselfish devotion.
John taught his children, Chris, Linda, and Bobby, the importance of loyalty, hard work and self respect. He refined their palates to espresso at a very young age and exposed them to the brilliance of Italian pop music. He thought he was always right to the point where it drove everyone crazy but can also make you laugh at the drop of a hat.
Born and raised In Castrofilippo, Sicily, he came to the United States in 1971, at 17 years old, with hopes to live the American Dream. He quickly learned English, got his GED, and acquired a job as a chef at The European Restaurant in the North End of Boston. He devoted his life’s work to his passion, feeding his family, friends, and strangers; a craft he held for over forty years up until the day he passed away. Everyone who was blessed to have been in his presence will never forget his loving soul, capeesh?
John was the beloved wife of Joan (Mistretta) LoBrutto, and the devoted father of Christopher LoBrutto of Medford, Linda Hearn and her husband Christopher of New Orleans and Robert LoBrutto of New York City. John was the dear brother of Angela Tucci, Salvatore LoBrutto, Giuseppina Russell, Pietro and Antonio LoBrutto, Anna Maria Paradiso, Gioacchino and Luigi LoBrutto, Rosa McPhee and Rita Loud. He was the brother-in-law of Jean Mistretta, Rose Byrne, Diane Mistretta. John is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
