Obituary

Helen M. Conti, 85, of Londonderry, died peacefully after a long illness, surrounded by family on Saturday, March 4, 2017 at her home. Helen was born in Boston on December 30, 1931, daughter of the late Charles and Helena Sauer. She was raised in Jamaica Plain, graduated from Jamaica Plain High School in 1949, and is a graduate of Katharine Gibbs School in Boston. Helen worked at Boston City Hospital (now New England Medical Center), the Agassiz School in Jamaica Plain and later for St. Mary’s Parish in Wrentham MA, where she lived with her husband, Albert until his death in 1997. Helen moved to Londonderry in 2002. She was very active in St. Jude’s Parish; she was a member of the Women’s Guild and St. Jude’s Crafters. She was an active member of the Londonderry Senior Center, the Red Hatters and was on the Elder Affairs Committee of Londonderry. Helen was best known for her flower arranging, and sewing talents, and her love for her two Yorkies: Lady Victoria and Emily Rose.

Helen is predeceased by her husband Albert Conti; a Boston Police Officer, and survived by her sister, Dorothy Greenler of Manchester, her daughters Helene Staley of Manchester, Paula Conti of Bow, NH, and two grandchildren, Timothy and Meredythe Leonard of Manchester.

Relatives and friends were invited to pay their respects on Tuesday, March 7, 2017 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Road, Londonderry, NH. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Mark the Evangelist Church in Londonderry on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at 10:30 am. Burial followed in Center Cemetery in Wrentham, MA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to St. Jude’s Women’s Guild in Londonderry, NH or the Londonderry Senior Center.
