SOMERSET – Cynthia L. “Cindy” (Cowen) Botelho, age 76 of Somerset, passed away on Friday, March 3, 2017 at Charlton Memorial Hospital after a brief illness, with her loving family by her side. She was the beloved wife of the late Antone Botelho Sr. for 49 years and the daughter of the late Alden B. Cowen Sr. & Hermina (Anselmo) Cowen. Prior to retiring, Cynthia was a seamstress for the Granite Dress Co., Newport Mfg., and Bomar Mfg. She was active at both the Somerset & Fall River Senior Centers, enjoyed playing cards & bingo, doing puzzles and visiting Foxwoods. Cindy especially loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, family & friends.
Survivors include her sons: John Botelho (his wife Michele) of Berkley & Richard Botelho of Seekonk; stepdaughter: Rachel Faulkner of Marshall,TX; siblings: Thomas Cowen of Fall River, Eileen Boucher of Swansea, Geraldine Cowen of Fall River, & Linwood Cowen of Swansea; grandchildren: Tyler, Kyle, Travis, Austin, & Kristyn; great granddaughter: Alyana; many nieces & nephews. She was the mother of the late Antone Botelho Jr. and the sister of the late Alden B. Cowen Jr., David, Leonard, Edward, & Lewis Cowen.
Her funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home, Inc. 1521 N. Main St. Fall River on Thursday at 8:00 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. John of God Church, Somerset at 9:00 A.M. Interment in Notre Dame Cemetery.
