Erik Robert Laisi, 32, of Stonington passed away March 3, 2017 after a courageous battle with cancer.
He is survived by his parents, Tom and Marion; Grandmother, Helen Laisi; Uncle,Rob Pulleyn; cousins Micah Pulleyn, Sarah Laisi Lavoie and Brooks Laisi as well as many extended family members and friends.
Erik graduated from Stonington High School in 2003 and Monmouth University in 2007 with a BA in music.
Erik worked for many years in Boston as a grip in the motion picture industry. He was one of the founding members of Wooly Mammoth Band in Mystic. He has been playing drums for the past 12 years primarily in southeastern Connecticut as well as the greater Boston area. Erik studied with jazz legend, Chuck Riggs, mastering the delicate art of swing and bebop drumming as well as blues, rock and honkytonk music. Erik was also a friend of Bill W.

A celebration of life will be held at the Knickerbocker Music Center, 35 Railroad Ave., Westerly, Rhode Island on March 25, 2017 from 12 to 2. Casual dress is requested.
